National Team
The National Selection is held annually for children aged 9 to 11 who live in Brazil or abroad and do not require prior dance experience. It is divided into two stages: the pre-selection, held in several Brazilian cities via video link, and the second stage, called the National Selection, which takes place in Joinville, Santa Catarina.
Auditions
With candidates with dance experience able to enter the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil directly, auditions play a central role in the selection process. They consist of a full ballet class held within the Bolshoi School on pre-arranged dates.
Special Call
Another way to enter the Bolshoi School is through the Special Call, intended for dancers with dance experience aged 11 and older. The process also occurs in two stages, as with the National Selection, and can be completed in person or via video, depending on the institution's schedule.
