Special Certification

Bolshoi Brazil

Receive approval from the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil to teach the Vaganova Methodology. Successful applicants will be accredited and have their names registered on the Bolshoi Theater School website.

Proficiency in all years

The Agrippina Vaganova Method is divided into eight years of study. One of the teaching characteristics is the gradual and logical way in which the teacher builds the technique on the students' bodies, from the dancer's first steps to their professional development. To obtain certification, students will participate in an in-person exam with a panel of judges composed of Bolshoi School teachers who will evaluate their ease, teaching skills, and the correct application of the Vaganova Method in the classroom.   • What is Special Certification?

    The Special Certification is an endorsement from the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil for professionals who complete the Vaganova Bolshoi Brazil Methodology course. Those who pass the Special Certification exam will be accredited and have their names registered on the Bolshoi Theater School website.

  • Is Special Certification mandatory?

    No. Certification is not required to continue studying the Bolshoi School Methodology Course.

  • What is the validity of each certificate?

    Validity varies from module to module.

  • Who can have this certification?

    Those who took the Vaganova Bolshoi Brasil Methodology teacher course.

  • Is the test done online or in person?

    The test is in-person. Participants remain at the Bolshoi School for three days.

  • Is there any test for this certification?

    Yes! An oral and practical exam is administered. During the practical exam, the candidate will teach a class to Bolshoi School students, with a panel of professionals from the institution evaluating the class.

  • What happens if I fail the test?

    You keep your free course certificate.

  • How many certifications are there?

    There are three: Beginner Classes, Intermediate Classes and Advanced Classes.

  • How do I get certified?

    A prerequisite for Special Certification is to have completed, at least, Introduction to the 3rd Year of the Vaganova Bolshoi Brasil Methodology course for Teachers.

  • I didn't take the Special Certification test. Won't I get a certificate?

    Those who do not complete this certification will receive a free course certificate granted by the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil at the end of the modules.
